SEATTLE — It's the nine-hole, par-three, six-acre golf course that has been making golfers at any level feel right at home since 1948.
"We have a low greens fee," said Amy Faulkner, Green Lake Pitch & Putt's operations manager ."You don't have to wear anything special. You can come as you are. We accept you as you are and you don't have to have a golf skills. We will help you learn them along the way."
Visitors are already seeing a new look at the Pitch & Putt.
"We've given it a little bit of a makeover," Faulkner said. "It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint will do, and new flooring. We cleaned it up a little inside the pro shop. We are working on our greens a little bit. We're trying to improve the course. We're getting a new mower in the coming weeks and trying to update all of those things."
It's still the kind of place where you'll feel comfortable bringing the kids.
"We have people that come here and they golf while their kids just run around and get their energy out during their game," Faulkner said. " So yeah, we welcome anyone. We don't want them to obviously destroy the course, but have fun while they're out there."
Green Lake Pitch and Putt is open every day of the week from 8 a.m. to dusk. Prices start at $10 a person. If you don't have your own clubs, add $4 and you get a set of clubs, a bag and two balls.
