SEATTLE — Chris Cashman, former KING 5 host, will be joining Saint Bryan and Jose Cedeno on KING 5 Evening.

His return marks an exciting new chapter for both Cashman and Evening. His dedication to storytelling, combined with humor, and charisma, make him the perfect addition to the show.

Cashman first moved to Seattle as a kid in the 1980s so that his father, Pat Cashman, could be the creative services director for KING 5 — and eventually he became a cast member on "Almost Live," KING 5's version of "Saturday Night Live!"

"I’ve basically been loitering around the station ever since," he said. "I was that awkward little kid in the holiday promos and somehow got my first Emmy nomination in 7th grade for a comedy sketch that aired on KING 5."

Since then, Cashman has spent more than 20 years working in TV, radio and video games — and has won more than 10 Emmy awards for hosting, producing and reporting. He previously was with KING 5 News from 2017 to 2023, doing everything from hosting Take 5 to telling daily stories of the good in our communities. His passion for telling uplifting, community-driven stories makes him the perfect addition the Evening team.

When he's not in front of the camera, Cashman is the father of two teenage daughters.

"My girls see how I work to make it look like fun on TV and they are very excited to see me focus exclusively on fun and empowering content that celebrates community,” he said. "This gig feels like a full-circle moment, and I can’t wait to help tell the stories that make the Northwest wonderful, weird and worth watching.”

Cashman's debut episode has yet to be announced but he says he's beyond excited to begin work on the show.

Tune in to KING 5 Evening at 7:30 p.m. on weekdays.
