RENTON, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks signed eight of the team's draft picks, including its first-round pick Grey Zabel on Monday.
The offensive lineman agreed Monday to a four-year deal worth over $18 million guaranteed.
Seattle selected the 23-year-old with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-6 offensive lineman spent his entire college career at North Dakota State from 2020-2024. He was an All-American FCS first team for the Bison and helped them win two national titles.
Zabel, who played at left tackle, right tackle, left guard and right guard for North Dakota State, will likely play left guard for the Seahawks, but he's versatile enough to play anywhere on the offensive line. He figures to be a key component for new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak on a revamped line.
"It still hasn't sunk in," Zabel said May 1 in his Seahawks introductory press conference. "I have to wake up and pinch myself every single morning that I get to play for the Seattle Seahawks. It probably never will sink in."
In his Seahawks introduction, Zabel said he'll approach his job as an offensive lineman with the mantra: Do as I do.
"I would say sweat equity is No. 1," Zabel said. "You never want to ask someone to do something you aren't willing to do or have done. I think in the offensive line room, sweat equity plays a huge role in leadership and understanding that you have to put in the work and the time. And understanding that you're blocking for someone else. You're protecting somebody else and the highest level you can do it at is making sure nobody touches your other guy. I think in the offensive line room, it's a unique trait to have being a leader there."
Seattle also announced they've signed 5th round picks defensive lineman Rylie Mills, receiver Tory Horton, and Robbie Ouzts, 6th round pick guard Bryce Cabeldue, and 7th round picks running back Damien Martinez, offensive lineman Mason Richman, and receiver Ricky White III.
Seattle's only unsigned draft picks are 2nd round picks safety Nick Emmanwori and tight end Elijah Arroyo and 3rd round pick quarterback Jalen Milroe.
