SEATTLE — Over 90 employees of a major job search company are being laid off as part of a broader restructuring.

Indeed said about 1,300 employees will be impacted across the company in the layoff. According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed by the company in Washington state, 92 of those employees are based in Seattle.

Indeed CEO Hisayuki Idekoba informed employees in an email Thursday, saying the company was "working toward a simpler hiring experience for job seekers and employers."

Recruit Holdings, a Japan-based company, purchased Indeed in 2012 and Glassdoor in 2018. As part of the layoffs, Glassdoor will be integrated into Indeed and its CEO, Christian Sutherland-Wong, will step down.
