WASHINGTON — The trailer for the final season of "Stranger Things" is finally here.
Netflix released the full trailer for the fifth season of the sci-fi series on Wednesday morning. The near 3-minute-long trailer gives fan a first look at the aftermath of Season 4.
The final season picks up in the fall of 1987 as Hawkins deals with the portals to the Upside Down, known as "rifts" in the series. The Hawkins crew are united by a shared goal to find and kill Vecna.
According to the official synopsis, the team's plan gets complicated amid government involvement in Hawkins. The fictional Indiana town is placed under military quarantine in the final season, forcing Eleven into hiding.
"As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time,” the official synopsis reads.
The trailer ends with the crew appearing to meet with Vecna for an epic battle in Hawkins.
